How Teeth Whitening at the Dentist is the Best Choice

Deciding that you want whiter teeth is a great first step to attaining those goals. However, when it is time to pick what method to use it can be a little confusing. Today, we are going to look at some of the different options that people have when deciding to whiten their teeth. Between options for at home whitening and ones only performed at the dentist office, this article will help gather the information to help you make the right decision for your teeth whitening hopes, budget, and end goals of having whiter teeth.

Teeth whitening at home

One of the most popular options that people have when it comes to whitening their teeth at home is whitening strips. The strips are placed on the top and bottom of your teeth, and left on for a set period of time, typically one to two hours. The strips are then removed and over a few weeks, your teeth will become around 2 to 3 shades lighter.

Another option for teeth whitening at home is the use of gel that is put into trays that are applied on the teeth. After a certain amount of waiting time, the trays are removed and the gel is washed off the teeth. Many people find that this option is cumbersome and can be very messy. Because of this, most people who opt for at home teeth whitening end up choosing the whitening strips over the gel and insert.

Teeth whitening rinses and toothpastes

There are also whitening rinses and teeth whitening toothpastes. The teeth whitening rinse is very easy to use, and once you switch the rinse around your mouth you simply spit it out. Over time this can help in whitening your teeth around one shade. Teeth whitening toothpaste, on the other hand, is used every day instead of regular toothpaste and will gradually brighten the teeth.

However, the teeth whitening rinses and toothpastes are known to cause more tooth sensitivity for people. Because of this, they are not as popular because the sensitivity can last between weeks and even months after use.

Dental office whitening procedures

When it comes to someone who is wanting to whiten their teeth that attains a substantial difference, having their teeth widened in a dental office is the best solution. There are many different procedures that can be completed, but the most popular one is the option of a tray filled with a solution made of bleach.

First, the trays are custom-made to fit over the teeth perfectly, and not slide or have any areas that are not fully treated. Secondly, the solution that is used is a strength that is only obtained by dentists who can do the application. This is a very strong solution, and is not for home use. It is nothing like the gels and strips that people use for teeth whitening at home.

Teeth whitening at a dental office is the best choice!

If you are wanting to have your teeth whitened and obtain substantial results that are noticeable to friends and family, having a procedure done at a dental office is the smartest solution. It typically only takes a fraction of the time to have this procedure done. And, the results are 3 to 5 times more noticeable than the other solutions are. Those being - home whitening using strips, gels, toothpaste and mouthwashes.
